Periodically I will do continuing education for travel. There is so much to know and stay up on. Recently the host agency I am affiliated had what we call Destination Day. The focus was on Expedition to Antarctica. Antarctica is called the White continent. For those of you that are looking for something different then an expedition cruise is for you. Many of the cruise leave from Ushuaia. Silversea leaves from Puerto Williams. You cross the Drake passage to get to Antarctica. For those of you that do not want to cross the Drake passage you can fly over.
One can also cruise to Georgia and the Falkland Islands as part of your expedition and make it a 3 week expedition. All of the expedition ships are lovely. They all offer landings where you get to walk on the ice and also get to see the penguins. Some of the ships are 5 star luxury and offer helicopter excursions and a submarine to see the marine life. Some of the Expedition companies are Scenic, HX, Silversea, Atlas Ocean Voyages, Lindblad Expeditions, Aurora Expeditions and A&K. Why not combine an expedition cruise to Antarctica with an expedition to Patagonia.
